EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:- Discuss the importance of providing Leadership Orientation to Medical Staff Leaders;
- Review Board Authority and Medical Staff Self-governance;
- Articulate Immunities, Protections and Confidentiality;
- Learn the definition of conflict of interest;
- Review ethical principles underlying the concept of professionalism;
- Discuss assessing conflicts of interest;
- Understand the adverse impact of lapses in professionalism.
The presentation method for this activity will be didactic with a Q&A period and will be evaluated by each participant at the conclusion of the lecture. The activity content is targeted towards Medical Staff Services Professionals, VPMAs, Medical Directors, Physician Leadership and healthcare professionals involved with licensure survey and hospital accreditation compliance.
