Under the direction of the Director of the Medical Staff Services Department (MSSD), the Medical Staff Services Lead manages the functions required to conduct credentialing and privileging activities of the medical staff organization and ensures that the credentialing and privileging activities of the medical staff organization are timely and meet all internal requirements (bylaws, rules and regulations, policies and procedures) while ensuring compliance with external accreditation standards, state laws and Medicare Conditions of Participation. Duties may include, but are not limited to process supervision, application management, verification of credentials, file maintenance (electronic), expirables management, information management, FPPE/OPPE, and direct support of the evaluation and decision-making process.  The Medical Staff Services Specialist is expected to be able to perform all meeting management and follow-up as assigned.  This position assists the Director in developing reports for meetings, including the credentials report for presentation to the Credentials Committee, Medical Executive Committee and Board of Directors.

Qualifications - Required:

• At least 5 years of experience in Medical Staff/Credentialing Services in an acute care setting for Medical, Allied, and Advanced Practice Staff.
• High school diploma or GED/California High School Proficiency.
• Highly proficient with Microsoft products, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Credentialing database management

Qualifications - Preferred:

• 2 years of lead or supervisory experience in Medical Staff/Credentialing Services in an acute care setting.
• College Degree
• 1+ years of experience with MD Staff, including use of MD-App
• Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional in Medical Services Management (CPMSM)
• Experience in California including application of Title XXII standards
