Position Summary:

Coordinates and provides secretarial support for the Medical Staff/AHP staff’s credentialing, including the processing of new applications, requests for temporary privileges, proctoring of new Medical Staff members, and biennial reappointments. Requires daily interactions with various Medical Staff members. Assures that reappointment process is initiated for each member of the Medical Staff /AHP staff in a timely manner. Performs follow-upon missing information and obtains appropriate approvals. Attends Medical Staff meetings and assists with set up, agenda, and minutes.
 
Build positive working relationships with members of the medical staff and their office staff to improve physician and patient satisfaction. Knowledgeable of Medical Staff organization, its Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and Policies and Procedures. 
  
Qualifications: 
 
Job Qualifications Include:

  • Certified status as a Medical Staff Coordinator required.
  • Medical Terminology knowledge and experience required.
  • 3 years’ experience working closely with physicians.
  • Previous experience working in a hospital setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terms, office procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge of computers.
  • Ability to use good grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Able to type at a rate of 60 words per minute.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with others as well as being comfortable working with frequent interruptions.
