PRS Credentialing Services is seeking to immediately hire certified Medical Staff Credentialing Coordinators to assist with duties relating to practitioner credentialing . The Credentialing Coordinator will process initial and reappointment applications and/or perform credentialing duties as assigned by the Medical Staff Director, and ensure all practitioner files are kept current. The Coordinator will track the expiration of certifications in order to maintain up-to-date files, further ensuring the accuracy of all information. Candidates will be reliable, energetic, forward thinking, and maintain excellent work relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Process initial credentialing applications and re-credentialing applications.
- Screen practitioners' applications and supporting documentation to ascertain their eligibility.
- Collect information from the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB), applicant and their malpractice insurer, and other required sources.
- Recognize inconsistencies in information and conduct follow-ups.
- Present applications to the facility’s Credentialing Committee.
- Assist customers with credentialing inquiries.
- Capture primary source documentation in computer databases.
- Ensure data is backed up.
- Ensure compliance with bylaws, regulations, procedures, and policies.
Requirements:
- High school diploma, GED, or satisfactory alternative.
- Certified Provider Credentials Specialist (CPCS).
- 5+ years of credentialing experience with hospital medical staff.
- Knowledge of medical credentialing and privileging procedures and standards.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems in a timely manner.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Skilled with Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
