We currently have a full-time opportunity available for a Medical Staff Services Coordinator to join our Medical Staff Team. Reporting to the Medical Staff Services Manager, the successful candidate will serve as a liaison between the SHC Credentialing Verification Office (CVO) and the SHCNC Medical Staff Office, supporting the credentialing and privileging application process.
Key responsibilities include
- Initiate requests for credentialing and privileges to CVO, including but not limited to appointments, re-appointments, status changes, LOAs and other updates.
- Receive and evaluate the credential file from the CVO and coordinates the approval process per the Medical Staff Bylaws
- Coordinate and collaborate with the residency program directors, medical schools and others to facilitate Fellow/ Resident/Student/Observer rotations.
- Serve as a resource to and collaborate with the President of the Medical Staff, Chiefs of Staff, the Medical Committee of the Board of Governors, hospital administration, and individual members of the SHCNC medical staff.
- Facilitation and execution of the on and off boarding and orientation of all providers and provide necessary information to the CVO.
- Generate queries and reports from credentialing and privileging database as requested.
Knowledge of Medical Staff Affairs operational process, related accreditation and certification requirements and federal and state regulations preferred. Must have the ability to multitask, communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, use independent judgement and be highly organized and detail oriented. Excellent computer skills required. Previous Joint Commission survey preparation and interview experience a plus.
