Job Description:

This position coordinates the Medical Staff meetings to assure that the medical staff functions as outlined in the Medical Staff Bylaws. Serves as an essential link between Management and the Medical Staff to promote and enhance good communications and a positive working relationship. Responsible for establishing, contributing, and maintaining continuity in implementation of standards applicable to Medical Staff members relating to the Department and Committee functions.

• Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
• Effective written/oral communication and presentation skills.
• In-depth knowledge of medical staff best practices, and Medical Staff Bylaws/Rules and Regulations, and accrediting/regulatory requirements.
• Strong knowledge of applicable software programs and personal computer skills.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree OR 10 years of medical staff experience of staffing medical meeting meetings
• CPMSM certified
• Knowledgeable with Robert Rules of Order
• knowledge of the medical staff department function, writing and coordinating medical staff meetings, CIHQ, Title XXII, health plans and CMA
• Must obtain LA City Fire Card within 6 months of employment (PHGSH Only)

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in health services or similarly related field
